The Power of Authenticity: How Tara Lipinski Embodied Our Mission

By Ron Rudzin, CEO & Founder of Saatva

Ron Rudzin is the CEO of Saatva, The Official Mattress and Restorative Sleep Provider of Team USA & the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

When Saatva became the Official Mattress & Restorative Sleep Provider of Team USA and the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, it was more than a sponsorship decision; it was a commitment to bring the importance of restorative sleep to the center of the performance conversation.

World-class athletes understand better than anyone that performance doesn’t come from simply pushing harder. It comes from preparation, discipline, and most importantly, recovery. Over the past year, working alongside elite athletes has reinforced that truth in powerful ways. Hearing them speak candidly about how restorative sleep underpins performance and endurance at the highest level has added depth and credibility to our mission.

Tara Lipinski was one of these athletes, but she didn’t just reinforce our messaging; she embodied our mission.

Tara is one of the greatest American athletes of all time, and from the moment she announced Saatva’s designation live on the TODAY show in May 2025, it was clear she brought both credibility and a deep, lived understanding of the role sleep has played throughout her career and life as a mother.

Since then, she has been an incredible partner, from our Viewing Room opening in Pasadena to the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in St. Louis. We have enjoyed watching her continue to evolve, including cheering her on during her latest reality TV appearance. But what truly stopped me in my tracks came during a recent interview that our team conducted with her.

The goal was straightforward: to hear, in her own words, what sleep means to her and how it has influenced her performance, perspective, and life beyond competition. When I watched the interview, it honestly took my breath away.

I have spent the last 15 years building Saatva’s business and brand. Rarely have I seen someone embody our brand’s value so naturally and so completely. Tara spoke with enthusiasm, insight, and authenticity: not as a spokesperson delivering lines, but as someone who deeply understands the role restorative sleep has played both in her professional performance and in the day-to-day life as a mother.

She connected sleep to success in athletics and beyond, from competition to motherhood, in a way that felt genuine and earned. She wasn’t performing; she was sharing.

That’s when I picked up the phone and asked our Chief Creative Officer, David Link, “This needs to become a national commercial.”

While supporting Team USA during the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, Saatva will make our most significant advertising investment to date, centered on our vision: to inspire the world to prioritize sleep. Prominently featured will be these commercials, built directly from Tara’s interview. Her words capture what we have believed all along: that sleep is the foundation that enables performance, clarity, and success, not just for athletes, but for anyone balancing ambition, responsibility, and life’s demands.

As a CEO, moments like this stand out. They affirm that the most meaningful stories are rooted in real belief and lived experience.

I have never felt more confident about our story being told than when I hear it through Tara. I hope that when people see these commercials, they think about their own rest and recovery, and what might be possible if they make sleep a priority in their own lives.
